WILLIAM GANONG CEMETERY

This is compilation of five different readings, probably not complete, but to date 354 gravesites listed.  Readings by the Sarah Ann Cochrane Chapter, NSDAR in 1930, Recordings by Arthur Booth in 196-, Reading found on www.geocities.com/michhist/ganong.html, Readings from October 1988 on file at the Westland Historical Society and given to me on 22 Febuary 2002, and a Reading by Paulette Quarterman and Keith Knapp in October 2002.The land for the cemetery was set aside by William Ganong in 1832, from a portion of his farm land, so that family and friends would have a place to be buried.  The Cemetery now belongs to the County of Wayne.  The Westland Historical Society hopes to find interested people to help maintain the Cemetery and restore it to a good condition.  I am descended from William Ganong and would be interested in hearing from anyone with an interest in the Cemetery or connected to the family.  I can be reached at soozieq033@cs.com.
