John Aaron
Street Car Conductor
Detroit, Michigan

This is my great-grandfather,
John Aaron.  He was a street car conductor in Detroit
(here he is in his uniform).  I'm told he really loved
his job and was very proud to be a street car
conductor. He was also apparently very popular with
the regular riders.  I believe this photo was taken
either in the late 1920's or early 1930's.  He passed
away in 1934 and looked a few years older in photos
from then than he does here.  He is listed as a street
car conductor in the 1930 Census, so we know its right
around that time.  He was living at 11191 Charlemagne
at the time, and I believe that he might be standing
in front of his house there in this photo.
